Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis testing protocol

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis testing protocol

Automated screening of ALS models

ALS-testing-protocolDisease models typically show deviations in specific spontaneous behavioural parameters measured in our automated home-cage setting. We identify and exploit these parameters to use them for efficacy studies, comparison with other disease models and characterization of underlying disease mechanisms. Our testing protocol for ALS includes 3 days of spontaneous behaviour, which can be repeated to generate a longitudinal profile of disease progression.

SOD1 mutation affects activity pattern

An SOD1 mouse model of ALS shows deterioration of motor function during disease progression.
